Geography
This course will consider the tools of geographers, including content ranging from maps and tools of a geographer to how humans are driven by their geographical surroundings and affect those surroundings with their actions. We will explore such questions as: How can maps be used for political purposes? How do cooperation and conflict influence the division and control of the social, economic, and political spaces on Earth? What predictions can be made about human migratory patterns? How does increasing globalization influence the interaction of people on Earth? How do technologies affect social and political change? Instead of being a course with its roots in history, this course will be a more contemporary view of the planet we all share.
